This Privacy Policy explains how Melo-de Savage (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit melo-desavage.com (the “Site”) or interact with our services. Melo-de Savage is a licensed real estate professional (CA DRE #01784140) affiliated with eXp Realty of Southern California, Inc. (CA DRE #02187306), operating in the state of California.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Contact information when you submit a form, request a home valuation, save a property search, or contact us by email or phone. This includes your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any message content.
- Property preferences when you use our search tools, save listings, or set up saved searches through our property search, which is provided by IDX Broker.
- Transaction information when you become a client, including information necessary to complete a real estate transaction (financial pre-qualification status, property details, identity verification, etc.).
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, time on site, referring URL, device type, browser type, IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies for session management, analytics, and to remember preferences. See “Cookies and Tracking” below.
- Location data: approximate location derived from IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation unless you grant browser permission.
Information from third parties
- MLS listing data from the San Diego Multiple Listing Service (SDMLS), delivered through our listings provider, IDX Broker. This data is publicly available and displayed under SDMLS rules.
- Lender or mortgage partners (if applicable) when you elect to be referred for financing.
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) that aggregate anonymous usage data.
Property search pages
Our home search, listing detail pages, and saved-search accounts are provided by IDX Broker and may be served from IDX Broker’s systems. When you register, save a search, or ask about a property on those pages, IDX Broker collects the information you enter and passes it to us so we can respond. IDX Broker’s own privacy policy also applies to the information it collects.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide the services you request
- Send property alerts, saved-search updates, and market reports you’ve opted into
- Facilitate real estate transactions on your behalf
- Improve the Site, our marketing, and our services
- Comply with legal obligations, including real estate licensing and brokerage requirements in California
- Detect and prevent fraud, security incidents, or abuse
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their independent marketing purposes without your consent.
How We Share Information
We share your information only as follows:
- With our brokerage, eXp Realty of Southern California, Inc., as required for licensing compliance and transaction supervision.
- With service providers who help us operate the Site or our business (email delivery, CRM, our listings provider IDX Broker, analytics, hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to handle your data securely.
- With other transaction participants (buyer’s or seller’s agents, title companies, lenders, inspectors, attorneys) when you have engaged us in a transaction and sharing is necessary to complete it.
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our agreements, or protect rights, safety, or property.
- In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, asset sale), with notice to you.
Cookies and Tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate effectively, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and (in some cases) deliver targeted marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some features (saved searches, form pre-fill, etc.).
We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary: required for the Site to function (session, security, form submission).
- Analytics: Google Analytics or similar, to understand aggregate usage. Data is anonymized where possible.
- IDX functionality: IDX Broker uses cookies to remember saved searches and favorites.
- Marketing: retargeting pixels (Meta, Google Ads) may be used to display relevant ads on other sites. You can opt out via your ad-preferences settings or industry tools like NAI Opt-Out.
Your Rights and Choices
All users
- Access and update: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to update incorrect information.
- Deletion: you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal and transactional retention requirements.
- Opt out of marketing: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also reply STOP to any SMS message to opt out of texts.
- Do Not Track: some browsers send a DNT signal. We respect DNT for analytics where technically feasible.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccuracies, and the right to opt out of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 also lets California residents ask whether we have shared personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information for that purpose.
Other state laws
Residents of other states (Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) may have similar rights under state-specific privacy laws. We honor these rights upon verified request to melo-de@melo-desavage.com.
GDPR (EU/UK residents)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. We process data on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interest (to operate the Site), and consent (for marketing). Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described, or as required by law. Transactional records are retained per California real estate licensing requirements (typically several years). Marketing contacts are retained until you opt out or request deletion.
Security

Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us at melo-de@melo-desavage.com and we will delete it.

The Site may link to third-party websites (lenders, inspectors, government resources, MLS detail pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their privacy policies before sharing information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date at the top. Substantive changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated by email to subscribers where appropriate.
