The City of Escondido lists Community Facilities Districts, also known as Mello-Roos, for Eureka Ranch, Hidden Trails, the Villages, and Eclipse and Mountain House, and the special tax is levied each year on the property tax bill. Is the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in Escondido?

Not technically. The Safari Park uses an Escondido mailing address, but it sits in the San Pasqual Valley entirely within the City of San Diego. State Route 78 runs east from Escondido into the valley and provides access to the park.

Which freeways serve Escondido?

Interstate 15 runs through the city, north toward Temecula and south toward San Diego. State Route 78 meets I-15 in Escondido and runs west as a freeway through San Marcos and Vista to Oceanside. East of the freeway’s end at Broadway, SR 78 continues through downtown and into the San Pasqual Valley toward Ramona and Julian.
